About the S.A.F.E. Action Fund
Sustainable Action Fund for the Environment
Originating in Maui, Hawaii, SAFE (Sustainable Action Fund for the Environment) formed in July of 2014, as a Hawaii non-profit 501-C4 organization mobilizing grassroots community members. SAFE is a sister organization to the SHAKA Movement, 501-C3 education and charitable organization. It fosters a spirited “Right-to-Environmental and Community Health” platform that directly addresses health, land and legal implications in state of Hawaii. It’s mission is to empower a growing base of well-informed citizens and legislators to change the way we utilize our natural resources. Ultimately, what happens in Maui County can be an agent of change for all counties across the country.
KEY OBJECTIVES:
To educate the public and legislators, namely that honest disclosure, critical data and analysis will lead to good health practices, healthy environment and citizens.
Inform the people about right-to-health and well being.
Educate how to take actions that protect laws and rights.
Advocate for the Candidates that reflect the progressive views of the S.A.F.E. Action Fund’s values.
The “Maui ‘Ohana Candidate” slate is the official slate of the progressive candidates endorsed by S.A.F.E. and the Maui ‘Ohana Candidate Coalition.
Fill the urgent and compelling call for data and research towards a Sustainable Maui Future.
Recognize and support like-minded Maui non-profits with similar missions as a part of a larger movement.
