Campaign Statement:
I believe Maui County needs leadership that is truly inclusive, transparent, accountable and effective for everyone. We need solutions that benefit resident, visitor and developer alike, tempered by the fact that we are three separate islands encompassed within one county and each island has unique needs and requirements. The dynamics of our islands are changing and we need leadership that will reach out to communities and address their needs to look after our most vulnerable while encouraging smart growth.
If elected, I will immediately address our most pressing issues of homelessness, availability of water and food insecurity that touch every demographic in our society. I will also work on legislation that makes government accountability a more transparent process, by pushing for video testimony and services to assist our vision- and hearing-impaired residents in getting involved.
I ask for your vote to make a difference for our keiki, our kūpuna, our ‘āina and ourselves. If ever there were a time in our lives to BE the change we wish to see, now is the time.
