Our Purpose

The purposes for which the corporation is organized are to promote social welfare under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, including but not limited to:

Developing and advocating for legislation, regulations, policies and programs to improve the environment, protect natural resources.

Stimulate the economy through forming alliances and partnerships with other environmental organizations.

Publicizing the positions of elected officials concerning these issues. 

Educate Hawaiʻi voters on candidates’ positions on food safety issues sustainable organic and farming practices

Mobilize community to vote for endorsed candidates on Election Day.

Influence and advocate for public policy during the Hawaiʻi legislative.

SHAKA Action Fund asserts that healthy and sound stewardship is possible under the Hawaii State Constitution, which protects each person’s right to a “clean and healthful environment, as defined by laws relating to environmental quality.”
